Youth Sports Code of Conduct

Purpose

The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment for all participants — including players, coaches, officials, and spectators — in all league activities. Our goal is to teach teamwork, integrity, and sportsmanship while fostering personal and athletic growth through healthy competition.

For Players

  • Always show respect to coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials.
  • Play fair, follow the rules, and honor the spirit of the game.
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship — win or lose.
  • Avoid profanity, taunting, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
  • Arrive on time for practices and games, ready to give your best effort.
  • Care for uniforms, equipment, and facilities.
  • Report unsafe behavior or bullying to a coach or league official.

For Coaches

  • Be a positive role model in behavior, language, and attitude.
  • Teach respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game itself.
  • Emphasize player development, teamwork, and enjoyment over winning.
  • Ensure player safety and well-being at all times.
  • Use positive coaching methods and avoid yelling or ridicule.
  • Provide equal opportunity for all players when possible.
  • Comply with all league rules, safety standards, and certifications.

For Parents & Spectators

  • Encourage all players with positive words and attitudes.
  • Respect coaches, officials, and volunteers — no arguing or confrontations.
  • Allow coaches to coach; avoid giving instructions from the sidelines.
  • Model good sportsmanship and self-control.
  • Refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco at league events.
  • Address concerns respectfully and privately with league officials.
  • Promote a fun, inclusive environment for every child.

Off-the-Field Conduct

  • Represent Tri County Flag Football League with pride and respect in the community.
  • Show courtesy and good character in school, online, and in public.
  • Avoid any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination — in person or digitally.
  • Use social media responsibly; never post negative or disrespectful comments about teammates, coaches, officials, or opponents.
  • Maintain good academic standing and positive relationships with teachers, peers, and family.
  • Support teammates and fellow participants outside of games and practices.
  • Remember that being part of this league means setting an example for others — on and off the field.

Enforcement

All participants — players, coaches, and parents — are expected to follow this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspensions, or removal from league activities. Our shared goal is to uphold the values of respect, integrity, and sportsmanship in every setting.
